"Why are you doing this?" Blake asked curiously, grunting as his gray gelding shoved him in the chest, pushing him back a step.

Alima shrugged, slipping the bridle over her chestnut gelding's head. "You know Rick and I have been the only ones to like animals. I came up with the idea and he agreed. He finished his dream house and wanted to do another project anyway."

Blake frowned, letting his horse nibble at his fingers. "Are you going to tell anyone else?" he asked, looking around at the buildings and pens in construction around them.

"When a lot of it is done," Alima murmured. "Maybe. I might let it slip to Stephan. But for now I want it to myself," she shrugged innocently, pulling herself into the saddle. "It's about time I focused on one job anyway," she added, gently kicking the horse in the sides and trotting away.

Blake snorted, eyeing his horse. "It feels weird to own an animal when your half one though," he muttered before pulling himself into the saddle and following at a slower pace.

----

James burst through the door, looking around and pausing.

Rick and Alima sat on the couch, Alima in sweatpants and a tank top, staring into a beer bottle and Rick with a xbox controller in his hands and one eye squinted. Blake sprawled on the chair nearby, fast asleep. Somewhere down the hall Keith slurred some song. Alima and Rick both cheered when they saw James.

"What the hell? You said this was an emergency!" James complained.

Alima nodded seriously. "It is," she said, stifling a burp.

"We need more beer," Rick added brightly, waving the game controller around.

----

"Is the camera ready?"

"Yup. I don't understand why you need to do this, Keith. You're really good."

"I can still improve!" Keith protested.

Blake sighed and hung his head. "Dad's gonna get mad about this."

"Shut up, Blake," Alima muttered, setting up the camera.

"Shut up is a bad word," Jason mumbled, clutching his blankie to his chin and watching with serious amber eyes.

"Awe, I'm sorry sweetie," Alima crooned, scooping him up and holding him to her chest. "I won't say it again, alright?"

"Alright," Jason murmured.

"How about a cookie ?" she offered, walking off.

"Can you start the camera Blake?" Keith asked after the two had left, sitting in front of the video camera and resting a guitar on his lap.

Blake grunted and obliged, walking away afterwards.

Keith sighed softly, strumming the guitar before he began.

"If you hear this on the radio
Then we've already said our last goodbye
I won't be there when you get home
By now there's someone else that hears you cry
I wonder if he holds you like I did
I hope that he can love you better
Cause we were everything that's right at the wrong time..."
Blah.

The song is The Last Goodbye by David Cook ;)
